The horses are Hungarian Lipizzaners like the ones pictured, standing at 16.2hh (1.65m). They were chosen for their elegance and calmness in traffic which makes them excellent carriage horses. In preparation for the big day they are washed, groomed and their hooves oiled to maintain the highest level of turnout. The farrier visits every six weeks to replace their shoes to ensure good road grip. The horses are harnessed in black patent and English leather, with gleaming chrome buckles, all of which is highly polished prior to the event. We limit the distance the horses travel to 10 miles.
